Why did I
choose this career?
When I was
in school I always loved biology and then at high school, I had my first
chemistry class: I hate it! I spent the all year hating it and hating the
teacher!
Then, in second
grade of high school a new teacher came into the chemistry class and I
understood that I don´t hate chemistry as I thought and actually I was good at
it.
I started to study even more than needed and I used to help to my classmates after school.

I realized that
I enjoyed teach people, so with some friends that like to teach history, maths
and language, we started to teach to some children in Batuco and help them with
their homeworks. We even created a “summer school” with 50 children, adding
workshops, sports and music.
When it was
the time to choose a career I was really confused between being a chemistry
teacher and being a health professional.
One day I met the ACHS´s pharmaceutical chemist and she let me know the place where she works. It was amazing! Drugs, labs, patients and I realized that I wanted to be a pharmaceutical chemist too. That’s how I came into this faculty.

Nowadays, I´m happy with the career. Besides since last year I teach chemistry in a “popular
PREU” in Peñaflor. At last, I could join my two ideas
and I´m really happy.
She is my high school chemistry teacher, Clara Brito. I still talk with her. :)
